Managing Your Virtual Machines
Available VM Operations
All operations available to users in IllevanteCloud | VM are categorized as Main Operations and Additional Operations:
- Main Operations are accessed from the virtual machine context menu.
- Additional Operations are available on the virtual machine details page.
Main operations:
The main operations are available in Virtual machines → Menu or in Virtual machines → open a virtual machine page → Menu:
If the virtual machine has the status Stopped by the administrator and cannot be started, contact your platform administrator.
- Start/Stop — start/stop a virtual machine;
- Restart — restart a virtual machine;
- Suspend — suspend the VM work.
- Resume — exit the VM from the suspended state to operation state;
- Reinstall — install a new operating system on your virtual machine:
- Recovery mode — start/stop the recovery mode;
- Change password — create a new root password for the virtual machine;
- VNC — connect to the virtual machine desktop via VNC;
- Create a snapshot — create a snapshot of virtual machine.
- Run script — select a script that will be started on the virtual machine, a list of software script that you can choice from as your need.
- Notes — add notes to a virtual machine.
To delete a VM, contact the platform administrator. If you ordered a VM from a provider, you can disable this service in the provider's client area.
